Hi all,

Just like to pass on my thanks to PCSpecialist for another tremendous job on my new rig. I am 110% over the moon with it.....totally awesome - thank you.

However, having some dramas with the AMD Gold voucher that came with the R9 290X card......

The radeon rewards gold program (where you input the voucher code on AMD's website) is pretty flawed.
To redeem the voucher you need both the code on the card, a reference ID (which comes with "the game keys email" <- I don't know what this is), need to know a "Campaign" and selection (no idea) and you have to scan in the voucher code and send this to AMD....the scan image has to be fairly small. To which AMD email back a few days later and say the image needs to be re-scanned at a higher resolution and emailed to them so they can check this.....

Needless to say, I'm unhappy with the voucher program, but I have a support ticket in with AMD at present and we'll see how this turns out.....Maybe they have had issues with scams and false vouchers, but this one is a fairly painful hoop to jump through.....

But, ending on a plus...the rig itself eats through new gaming content, looks awesome (pics to follow in another thread later) and I'm well happy....thanks for everything PCS :)

are you serious? that seems like a lot of hassle.

Yep, I am serious there Keynes....On the first day I registered and input the code I actually had a moment of nerdrage (Sorry WoW-ers G.N.E.R.D rage :) ), and yelled at my screen for a moment.....

On further checking and speaking to AMD, it appears that this is a "neversettleforever" Campaign card (I had no idea) so re-tried to input the details again....but it is still asking for this Reference ID, which I do not have and I have no emails from AMD about this (as I haven't purchased any games yet - just the card through PCS).....

I'll let you know how I get on with my support ticket with AMD however and will pass on any useful feedback if required....

Regards,

Received another email from AMD this morning. They now need proof of purchase and a receipt for them to continue.....

I've emailed them my Invoice from this website and I will feed this back to PCS after this all gets resolved.....

We love you Ukraine
Typical case of "Wow, look at what we offer for FREE!".... immediately followed by "If you can be bothered to jump through all the hoops." I'm surprised AMD have taken that approach though, they're usually a lot more customer focussed (except driver support).

Still going round in circles with AMD....they say they have re-activated my voucher and I am to try again. But they have not answered my intitial query (about not having a reference ID etc).....

Head. Wall. *bang*

Finally resolved. I popped the code in again (without waiting another 2 days for an email response) and it took me to a completely different page where I chose my 3 games and extras and completed the transaction.....

So, all complete now - with added Sniper Elite 3, Thief and Dungeon Siege 3 (for the wife).....
