Gigabyte motherboard, i5-4690 and a non-quiet case.

Hey Keynes, any reason in particular as to why I should get the Gigabyte mobo insted of the ASUS® Z97-A board?

if I was to buy the Gigabyte mobo I would go for the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 3

thanks.

also is there a big difference between the i5 4460 and the 4690? im just trying to keep costs down a bit.

why the z97x? are you planning to SLI? the gigabyte motherboard is cheaper and it will perform as well as the asus board gaming wise, it allows you to upgrade other bits in your spec like the cpu.

I though you are downgrading from SLI, considering is for a 2nd rig I don't see why you would consider a motherboard that supports SLI. If that's the case you need to upgrade the PSU as well.

you are correct I am downgrading from sli - but in the future I might sli again depending on if I have some spare money.

for now tho 1 gpu will be enough so based on your suggestion I will go with the gigabyte board.
