The PC I ordered from PCSpecialist arrived this evening, and after setting it up it says it can't connect to the Internet.
The PC came with Windows preinstalled and with the following wireless card:
WIRELESS INTEL® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 2,400Mbps/5GHz, 300Mbps/2.4GHz PCI-E CARD + BT 5.0
I screwed the antennas onto it, as far as I'm aware no further set up is needed.
The wifi in the home is a TP-Link M5 Deco Mesh. The nearest base is in the same room as the PC. The PC connects to the network just fine and signal strength is high, but it says there is no internet. I've tried restarting the wireless units and the modem but that made no difference. Multiple other phones, tablets and laptops connect to the wifi and the internet is working just fine anyway, I'm using it to write this post on my macbook.
The next obvious step in my troubleshooting was restarting the PC, but now I can't log back in because Windows says I need to be connected to the internet to do that, which means I am now blocked from doing any more investigation. I'm not in a position to connect to ethernet because of the location of the modem.
What are the next steps I should take? I haven't used Windows in a while, more used to macs. I did some googling about logging in without internet and the advice seems to be "next time you have internet, go in and change these settings", which isn't of much use to me right now.
