New PC Build from PCS

Hi,

As some of you may know I bought a PC from PCS in January 2014 and it worked fine up until July 2014. Within a month and a half I had to have 3 RMAs on my machine which did cause a lot of hassle with regards to time and money.
Nevertheless, PCS refunded the full amount for my machine and I only had to foot the bill for one of the three RMAs.
Initially I was, as you can probably imagine, quite disheartened and annoyed but after a very personal phone call from one of the senior members of PCS I have been ensured any future experiences will run much more smoothly and to a higher standard than I have previously experienced. For that I can say that my respect for PCS has been regained.

I have just placed an order for my new build which is as stated below:

Case InWIN GT1 BLACK GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-4460 (3.2GHz) 6MB Cache
Motherboard ASUS® Z97M-PLUS: m-ATX, USB3.0, SATA 6.0, XFIRE

Hard Disk 1TB 3.5" SEAGATE SSHD, SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM (64MB + 8GB SSD CACHE)
DVD/BLU-RAY Drive 24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM
Power Supply CORSAIR 350W VS SERIES™ VS-350 POWER SUPPLY
Processor Cooling Super Quiet 22dBA Triple Copper Heatpipe Intel CPU Cooler
Sound Card ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)

USB Options MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 4 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION BUT I WOULD ADVISE ANYBODY BUYING FROM PCS TO PURCHASE THE 3YR SILVER WARRANTY (only for an extra £5)

UPDATE:

I received an email from PCS today at 8:31AM stating that my PC has been built and is now awaiting testing and configuration.

I'm very impressed with this experience so far!

If I was you I would have gotten a bigger PSU, that one will just barely supply the power for what you have ordered and will not be enough if you decide to upgrade the graphics card in the future. I would also recommend that if you are using it for gaming to get 8GB of memory, 4GB should be ok for a lot of current games but as games get bigger and better their memory requirements are creeping up and 4GB may soon not be enough.

Thanks for your feedback. I only need 280W power at the moment and will probably upgrade at some point but this probably won't be for at least 3-5 years. I'm planning on taking a few years out after university so it will be boxed back up again in a years time but then I will certainly buy extra RAM, a new gfx and upgrade the PSU if needed.
I just wanted a fairly good yet still basic/budget build for the time being.

I've received my PC and just started it up. The PC boots up and I get a POST beep, the mouse and keyboard light up but the monitor isn't getting a signal at all. I haven't got any OS installed as I'm installing it myself.

Could anyone maybe help me out?

Thanks

Make sure your connecting the monitor to the dedicated graphics card and not onboard.

on my ASUS i had to press the input button for it the recognize the HDMI, if that helps, also if possible read the monitor manual for any other options

I'm simply connecting the HDMI from the monitor to the HDMI on the rear on the PC. There is only one HDMI port that I can see on the PC.

Where was the input button? On the rear panel?

Oh sorry yes I know what you mean. I've tried that and I can cycle through the input options but none of them are receiving any signal.
