New pc, any advice?

Hello I am preparing to buy a new pc and was wondering if anything seems out of place for the build, My budget is around £3.5k and I will be mostly gaming on 2 2560 x 1440 165hz HDR monitors and am getting a bigger psu than I need for future upgrades.

Do you have any high core workloads, or games that require lots of cores? If not, the 9950X3D is overkill as it's mainly a rendering CPU with gaming capabilities. For pure gaming, then 9800X3D is probably the better option.

You don't require the Arctic thermal paste with the Corsair AIOs, as they come with their own, better, pre-applied paste.

To avoid having to configure different fans in different parts of the system, I'd stick to either all RS fans (the 3500/4000X case, the 3 x RS fan kit and Nautilus RS AIO), or all RX fans (6500X case, 6 x RX fan kit, Titan RX AIO).

Here's the 'RS' version, with some other tweaks...

Case
CORSAIR 3500X ARGB TEMPERED GLASS MID-TOWER (PCS)
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Eight Core CPU (Up to 5.2GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5) - gaming-only CPU
Motherboard
GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) - higher level motherboard, as the budget allows for it
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair DOMINATOR TITANIUM DDR5 6400MHz CL32 (2 x 16GB) KIT
Graphics Card
16GB GIGABYTE GEFORCE RTX 5080 GAMING OC - HDMI, 3 x DP
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB CRUCIAL T705 GEN 5 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 14,500MB/sR, 12,700MB/sW) - swapped these around as you want a smaller, faster drive for OS, apps, games launchers, and the larger slower drive for games storage
1st M.2 SSD Drive
4TB CORSAIR MP600 PRO NH NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 7000 MB/R, 6500 MB/W) - swapped these around as you want a smaller, faster drive for OS, apps, games launchers, and the larger slower drive for games storage
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1500W HXi SERIES™ ATX 3.1 & 5.1 PCIe MODULAR 80 PLUS® PLATINUM, ULTRA QUIET - excellent PSU (but I might be biased)
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre IEC C19 UK Power Cable
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR NAUTILUS 360 RS ARGB HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER - this uses the same fans as the case, so RGB effects/fan profiles will run identically
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Extra Case Fans
3 x Corsair RS120 ARGB PWM Fan - these are the same fans as the case/AIO, so RGB effects/fan profiles will run identically
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)

ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT

Thank you for the help. Would having such a fast SSD just for the OS make much difference over the other one as I was planning on just putting everything but windows on the 4tb T705?

The super-fast drive will make more difference to Windows than it will to games...as Windows is ALWAYS doing stuff in the background.

Smaller, faster drive for the OS, and bigger drive for games...this should explain it a little better...

The other reason is that some of the VERY fast drives don't have very good endurance rates (compared to each other)...so it's wiser to ensure the larger drive (which will see more reads/writes due to the size of the installs) has better endurance (which the Corsair Pro ones do).

Sorry for all the questions, so due to the endurance rates would it not be good to get 2 very fast ones as iv just seen a new samsung gen 5 added to the selections so could theoretically get a 2 faster ones and after searching online it supposedly has 2400 tbw

Of course, there's nothing stopping you putting in faster drives...just have to be aware of the extra heat the Gen5 SSDs produce and the added cost for these speeds - for example the 4TB Samsung 9100 Pro is about £200 more than the 4TB Corsair Core XT MP600 and £150 more than the 4TB Corsair MP600 Pro...and as its relatively new, we haven't had any long-term user reports (reliability, performance, etc.) on the 9100 Pro models yet .

There's not a lot of difference in price between Gen3, slow Gen4 and fast Gen4, so there's less of a cost issue going from Gen3 (or slower Gen4) to faster Gen4 than there is from Gen4 to Gen5.

Just for information, I found these reviews on the new Samsung 9100 PRO, and they appear to be better from previous models; however, the price is really high, and I'm not sure if it's worth it. :)

would i need some extra part for cooling the ssds or do you think whats selected would be sufficient?

ill have a read through. thank you for the info

Hello, Iv seen that 5090s and 5080s have a problem with melting the power connector but heard that some companies fix the issue in their version of it. I was wondering if anyone knew if this gigabyte card was maybe one of the ones that don't have the issue?

I think you're referring to the 4000 series, not the 5000s, it's the 12VHPWR connector that's the issue due to the way the power stage is designed on the card itself, it has no load balancing over the 6 power cables and so can easily run far too many amps over a single wire causing it to heat to melting point and sometimes even set on fire.

All 5000 series use the 12VHPWR standard, it's mandated by nVidia

It's AMD that doesn't demand it, only a couple of AMD cards use it, the rest use the normal 8pin power ports which don't have any issue.
