New MSFS pc v2

I’m about to press the green light on this but would like a sense check if that’s ok. I turned the ram down from 6000mhz to 5800mhz as I believe thats the max the cpu will support?

On a recent post I had a debate about upgrading my current pc but i am going to treat myself to a new machine anyway.

Monitor is a Samsung G9 49”. Machine is only used for MSFS.

Many thanks.

It's a great PC but I'd make a few changes to it. Can you include the green config link, please? What monitor will you be using?

Not sure where you've heard this. 6000MHz is the sweet spot for AM5 so I'd definitely go for that. That motherboard supports upto 8000MHz.

Can you post your full specs please, including the config link?

The PC is pretty good, I would avoid using four sticks of RAM on AM5 and keep the sweetspot frequency of 6000Mhz. If the budget allows, I'd also go with a 1200W HXi V2 PSU and ditch the 'downgrade' of thermal paste (Corsair pre-applied XTM70 is superior to MX-4).

Few changes:

RAM changed to 6000MHz and 2 x 32GB
Changed PSU to 1200W
Removed the Arctic paste
Upped the warranty to silver as it's only an extra fiver

If it was me, I'd probably go for the 360mm Titan CPU cooler and source the LCD screen externally, but I've left it out, unless one of the other members strongly recommends changing it.

4 sticks reduces the supported speeds significantly in AM5 (not enough memory controllers), and we've seen people having to run >64mb of 6000MHz RAM at 4800MHz to get is stable.

BTW, if you get bored with the black on black case aesthetic, then Corsair do trim kits for it (I've got a brushed alu one to fit when I get bored).

You could save £30 on the primary storage as you won't need 1TB. You'll want to keep it trim to keep it performing so I would always install any games on the secondary drive. In your uses I think 1TB is wasted but I know that £30 at this point isn't really a consideration :ROFLMAO:

Thanks Scott. So long as it's not detrimental to have the 1TB for the primary then I'm happy. Everything else will be on the secondary drive anyway, my ocd won't allow anything else. £30 is £30 and I'm a Yorkshireman! On this occasion however, I am prepared to take it for the team.

No, no down side other than lapse in storage habits. Mine is 1TB and floats around 200GB so I'm not too bad with mine, it took a bit of practise though :D
