I'll let somebody else comment on the specific components, but one word of advice is to definitely go with the better thermal paste, and I'd also suggest doing the BullGuard security as Windows Defender will do a better job (or there are better free alternatives out there anyhow)

What's your budget by the way?

Agree with Briggm, Windows defender is as good as any anti-virus these days, possibly better and for a laptop always go for the best possible Thermal Paste.

Likewise, what is the budget as that makes it easier to make suggestions.

For gaming 16 GB RAM is enough so unless anything more RAM demanding you can save a few quid there.

The Intel m2s are OK but not great and the Samsungs really are good and quicker, so I would consider going for one of those and a 1 TB drive as games are getting bigger. For storage, a 7200rpm HDD is fine but unfortunately the only one of those available is a 1TB but if you upped the m2 to 1 TB you would only be losing 500 GB and that 2 x 1 TB option is about 25 quid cheaper than your current config. Plus for extra storage there are often deals on USB drives about.

It's pretty perfect.

The DTR (Desktop replacements) don't have increased thermal paste as they come with it by default.

I would consider taking 2x8GB of RAM instead of 1x16GB

It's better for gaming.
