That will give you better gaming with the 980. I don't like commenting on cases, cooling etc as am a laptop user but other will help with those things. One other thing you may want to consider is home plugs instead of a WiFi card as that will give you a better connection.

I don't think you need that expensive motherboard. Money could be spent elsewhere for an SSD or something else.

That looks good as far as I can see.

£1224 is an awful lot for what is, essentially, a 970 gaming machine. That's the sort of budget you'd be expecting to see at least a 980 in. You're spending a substantial amount of an SSD which on a gaming machine could be used to actually bump the gaming limiting factor (ie. the GPU) up a notch.

Agree with SlimCini, for gaming get the best GPU you can, in this case the 980. A normal SSD would be fine to start with, although a 240GB would be worth it as games are getting larger. If you have the funds and want a super-fast SSD later on it is a simple upgrade and it should be easy to find a use for the older SSD but upgrading a GPU is costly and will most likely leave you with a redundant 970 that will not sell for much.

Hmm... Maybe get a non–PCIe SSD instead and use the money saved to get the GTX 980?
