you could get a very similar spec, that costs alot less if you went with a qaud core i72600 and a AMD 7950, Ill post up a spec.

I'd go for this mate, as you have a good size budget,

Case
COOLERMASTER HAF-X FULL TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i7-2600 Quad Core (3.40GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics cheaper than the cpu you selected before.
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V/GEN3: PCI-E 3.0 READY, SLI, CROSSFIREX up to date mobo, no need for the rampage one.
Memory (RAM)
8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (2 x 4GB KIT) no need for the faster ram either, unless you are overclocking, but you wont gain much from OC'in for gaming, it doesnt offer much benefit.
Graphics Card
3GB AMD RADEON™ HD7950 - DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable slightly better than a 580 and has more memory for that 27" screen, uses less power and outputs less heat than a 580!
Memory - 1st Hard Disk
120GB INTEL® 520 SERIES SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 550MB/sR | 520MB/sW)
2nd Hard Disk
2TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)
1st DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
12x BLU-RAY RE-WRITER DRIVE, 16x DVD ±R/±RW (£69) Do you really need this? blu ray disks are a fortune!
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W PRO SERIES™ HX750-80 PLUS® SILVER MODULAR (£116) Big enough psu for two 7950's!
Processor Cooling
TITAN FENRIR EVO EXTREME HEATPIPE CPU COOLER (£39) Great cooling, kinda overkill, but you may aswell.
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD) No need for a soundcard to be honest, unless you have a awesome sound system, IF you do get one, get one of the new recon 3d ones, the others are a bit old now, may aswell get new tech.
Network Facilities
2 x 200Mbps HomePlug AV - Create a Wired Network Using Electric Sockets! (£38) wirelss is poo compared to wired connection, these send ya internet through ya house wiring to give you a constant booming connection!
USB Options
6 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL (MIN 2 FRONT PORTS) AS STANDARD
Operating System

Just to point out that VRam on the GPU makes no difference on the screen size just on the screen resolution so basically it makes no difference if you have a 17" screen @ 1920x1080 or a 40" screen @ 1920X1080 and also the GTX580 outperforms a HD7950 on most games at 1920x1080 and is also cheaper than the HD7950.

Lols i used to think the same years ago when i switched from my PS2 to a laptop but did not look into it until i moved on to a desktop ;)

I thought it did because on the palit site, it says that a 3gb 580 gives you more performance in starcraft on a 27" screen, than a 1.5gb version.

lol I remember now it said the resolution was something stupidly high.

fail!
