Additionally I recently added 2TB of

WD_BLACK SN770 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD, M.2 2280 NVMe SSD, Gaming Solid State drive, PCIe Gen4, High Performance Gaming drive, Read speeds up to 5150 MB/s.

I currently run games in 1440p at 144hz however most story games im stuck at low settings at 60fps, example being God of War. I'm looking to move to 4k ideally at 240hz however 144hz is also okay with me. I don't have a budget I am just looking for something that could tackle those monitor specs on anything I may decide to play. I was also wondering if anything is salvageable to be transferred or if I should just get new SSDs etc which I am fine with doing. I also feel its worth mentioning, I do not do any additional tasks that require a strong computer besides gaming.

I read up on the advice before posting page but it just gave me more questions than answers. I would appreciate any advice and specifications you could provide. Thanks!

The main issue with the above build is the power supply: a 650W would be insufficient to power even a modern 1440p GPU, let alone a 4K one. Furthermore, I'm not sure if it's worth upgrading that system because the platform is effectively dead.

What is your maximum budget, anyway?

I'm not necessarily looking to upgrade I am happy to build a new one. Lets say anywhere from 5000-6000 is my budget. but less is also good. I was looking at the 5090 with a 9900X3D but then i saw a new X3D chip was scheduled soon if it hasn't already been released?

It's a real shame you didn't take the initial advice as you could have massively upgraded the CPU and the GPU without any other changes if you had.

There's going to be a bit of triggers brush going on to get the system into 2025 so you would definitely be better buying new, that way you can sell the system on as a whole and recoup some money (or help someone out if you know anyone in need).

Yea as time went on I did kind of regret that, but I still loved this computer a lot and its been excellent to me. Also my friend is an xbox gamer and has been wanting a computer for a while so i was considering gifting him this or maybe selling it for really cheap.

Given the budget the world is really your oyster. I wouldn't be so stuck on 4k gaming, I think that opting for ultrawide/super ultra wide at 1440p would be a better experience. If you can factor in around £1k for a monitor you can get the ultimate gaming experience.

That looks great, do most games support ultrawide now? Ive never used it. Also is there any way to reduce to PC price by maybe 1000 to factor in the monitor? I feel 64gb RAM might be too much but I dont know too much so cant say for sure.

It really depends on what your gaming preference is. If you're looking to play any Flight Simulation (FS2020 or FS2024) then I would stick with the 64GB. I don't think there's any consideration outside of that use for 64GB though.

I'll throw together a more sensible solution in a bit.

I appreciate it thanks. And no I'm not interested in simulators or anything. Just story games and a competitive shooter or two.

Below is a more sensible offering. Note that I couldn't select the 9800X3D as it's not due back in stock till the end of next month. I've put in the 7800X3D as a placeholder.

The main difference is the GPU. The 5090 price is eyewatering. It's so expensive. Dropping this down to the 5080 knocks £1k off without even changing anything else.
