What's it for? If Gaming I'd change a Few things around :)

I will be doing some gaming, as and when she's not about, but also a lot of file transfers and downloading between various other hdd's (external and hot swap) and media player
cheers

It's a nice build, and most of it's perfect but your motherboard doesn't have a PCI-E 3.00 slot. This is quite important, so I hope my comments helps if you didn't realise.

Background if needed: For the amount you are paying you will want to future proof your rig by making sure you have a PCI-E 3.00 slot on your motherboard. This is important for if you will eventually want to upgrade your card sometime in the future, or even if you ever decide to SLI your 680, as I am sure when it comes to the stage you will be considering upgrading the 680 the new cards will more than fully saturate PCI-E 2.00 slots. FYI: The two P8Z68 Gen3 models have PCI-E 3.00 slots and they are cheaper, but read some reviews to make yourself happy with your choice.

the mobo i want is the
P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 but they don't do it, so i may have to buy one somewhere else and ship it to them to install.
i really want more than the 2 sata 6gb ports on the other 2 asus boards which is why i went for the rog, but i'll ask them today about me shipping one up to them.
cheers for the advice

Just looked at a couple of reviews regarding this mobo, would the rest of the build be compatable with this board?

Well, I just spoke to pcs, and it turns out, I either have to give up on the deluxe board and stump for the pro gen, or go somewhere else as they don't stock it, won't order it and won't let me send one in!!!!!
Decisions decisions. ???

Go with the pro Gen. Cheaper, less hassle sending components and in case there is a fault you are covered under PCS's warranty

So, if no one has anything more to add, this will be the system I'll be ordering tonight.

Very nice build, not sure overclocking or 16GB ram would be necessary,
but If that's what you want,go for It.:)

excellent, get a bigger psu for another 680, unless you have already checked if two will run on 750w's :)

I agree with Vanthus regarding the overclocking. There is no need to overclock the rig at the moment? So you could get a cheaper unoverclocked 'k' version if you prefer, still leaving you the potential to overclock in the future when it starts to underperform compared to what you want. Doing it now is saying that you are not happy with the machine's components, (but they should be able to run any game on max settings smoothly right now and for some time to come). If you are happy to throw so that extra money at it, then go for it as long as you are aware that you take with it all the side-effects of overclocking, such as arguably shorter life-expectancy (especially if not water-cooled sufficiently).

Very nice rig though, congratulations! ^^ I hope you enjoy it.

Ok, point taken,

Looks good mate, guessing you plan to OC in the future? Which personally I do not recommend, you could drop a few things to save money.

I'd personally not bother with the fan controller though.

Are you doing a lot of video editing? if not you could drop to 8gig ram,

Also do you need an ssd and two performance hdd's? What do you plan to put on them both? for example music, movies, pics and backup would be well suited to a sata 3 caviar green drive.
