New 14"Fusion III vs 14" Lafite III vs 15.6" Lafite in terms of thermal performance, noise and battery usage.

I'm looking at buying one of these for school (business study, no intensive graphical programs), the sound of laptop fans ramping bothers me to no end so having a quiet machine would be nice. I have a good PC at home that I can use for intensive stuff. They would all be configured with a i5-8265U, 16Gb RAM and a 512Gb PCIe m.2 drive.

I'm going to have to use this basically all day so I want to not constantly plug in the charger. I noticed the Fusion has a bigger battery (46Wh vs 36Wh) but also has a 25W gpu in it so it might just level out in terms of battery life. I was also quite skeptical of the Fusions cooling system as it is so small I figured it is a higher risico for high pitched fan noise, is this true? I guess the MX250 wouldn't be helping either.

I also noticed that the 14" Lafite doesn't have "exhaust holes" whereas the 15.6 version does have them. Do they perform different in terms of temps and noise because of this?

The 14" Lafite does have air vents.
This is the same chassis I believe: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Schen...U-i7-8550U-UHD620-Laptop-Review.337612.0.html

As for what chassis fits your needs best, it may be best to give PCS a call. Since it's unlikely users here will have experience of all 3 chassis to compare.

Note the fusion's RAM is single channel only, whereas the others support dual channel. That could matter depending on your uses.
