Need some help with a computer

Hey guys and gals,

I've been out of the gaming business for about three years and looking to get back into it, I have never had a proper gaming PC and well now I'm looking at getting one however I have zero knowledge beyond trying to reserach which is like a different language haha.

I would be playing the following games mainly. Arma 3, Garrys Mod, GTA 5 Five M, these would be the three main games.

I have no good monitor, so would be looking to get one eventually, (any recommendations for the monitor would also be great)

My budget not including Monitor would be 1000-1200 euro

In terms of the monitor my budget would be about 200 euro

My advise would be to stay out a little while longer as prices are at an all time high at the moment, and if you've been out that long what difference is a few more months going to make apart from prices hopefully stabalising or coming down & better availability of parts

Thanks for that Martin, however what would you recommend or would you have any idea just so I can go looking and reseraching

Where are you buying from? As you're using Euro's I assume it's not the UK. For a direct conversion between EUR and GBP, I reckon the cheapest you'll be able to get a PC for is about 1300 Euros that won't be a throwaway build and will have some decent future upgradability. For a more comfortable build that will leave you longer without needing to change anything you'd be looking more in the reigon of 1500 EUR.

If you already have some sort of PC/ laptop with a copy of Windows that won't be used after this PC arrives, the Windows key can be transferred across in what is a fairly easy process these days. That process will save about 110 Euros which will bring you closer to your initial budget.

As Martin has said, with the pandemic PC prices are incredibly high at the moment with high demand but low supply. The crypto currency mining craze also isn't helping that. Hopefully prices will improve over the next few months but honestly I wouldn't hold your breath. Prices are just at an all time high so sadly, it's a bad time to buy for 'budget' customers.
