So I want to build a good laptop for games, I already had an idea but then I browsed the forums a bit more and saw that theres a lot of problems with the Optimus II. I was going to go for the GT555M 2GB but then i learned that the video card isnt capable of handling such memory (read on some forums not really sure about it) so theres not much difference between 1GB and 2GB Vram, ontop of that i saw theres a problem with vibration, touchpad not working, etc. So my question would be, what kind of system should I get?(knowing that Id put i7 CPU with 8gb ram) I need a good video card but at the same time i dont want to spend a lot of money since i dont need the latest cutting edge video cards that are out there.
Maybe someone can give feedback on Optimus II performance, durability and temperatures and just in general what temperatures are fine under heavy load.
I was going to get the Enigma III but i read that GT540M isnt that great, and then again its 2GB (please correct me if im wrong).
Also read that the Vortex has a good chassis for cooling.
If you can suggest some setups thatd be great, im looking for something under 800 pounds (no windows installed)
Edit 2:
How well would a GTX560m would run on 1080p? (say Diablo 3 maxed out?)
Found a video on youtube playtrough 720p (gt540m) he wrote he got 60 without fraps and 35 with, thats fine except for the fact that its 720p, id be playing on higher resolution
