Need advice on what to upgrade.

My specs are....

AMD FX-8350 Eight Core CPU (4.00GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3+)
Motherboard ASUS® SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 (DDR3, USB3.0, 6Gb/s, CrossFireX/Sli)
Memory (RAM) 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (2 x 4GB KIT)
Graphics Card 3GB AMD RADEON™ HD7970 - DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable
CORSAIR 850W
Corsair H80i Hydro Series (this no longer lights up for some reason)
Windows 8
1920 x 1080
Everything is at stock level and I don't really feel confident overclocking after several attempts and tons of reading. I just baffles my brain.

This rig runs most games pretty well and on max settings. I do find some games run below 60fps which is why I want to upgrade. I have thought of possibly running 7970's crossfired and perhaps adding another 2 sticks of ram or buying a new base unit but going down the intel route this time as so many people keep suggesting. Either way I would appreciate any advice on upgrading my current rig, or the best intel setup for my desired goal.

Thanks guys

Is there a reason for getting steady 60 fps? For gaming in 1 monitor at 1920x1080 I would have though the hd 7970 would handle games at ultra settings. Upgrade options depends on your budget, I wouldn't go with a new system though.

It's just my preference really and games like Arma 3 seem to dip quite a bit. I know there are games that need to be optimised better and what not, but I do like to mod games also and so the extra oomph would do wonders for that side of things. Money is not really an issue for doing some upgrades.

Anyone? I bought my rig here and hoping to send it back for the upgrades if any one can suggest what to do? I have no idea.

I don't think upgrading the ram would make any noticeable improvement to gaming unless you're running loads of mods. Perhaps in 2 years or so games will utilise more than 8 Gb but certainly not now.

Purely looking at Arma 2 benchmarks it does indeed seem to run pretty poorly generally looking at the thread below:

If you're looking to up your FPS then crossfiring would be a good option and I think you're psu could handle it.

Well... Installing a new GPU is as easy as taking the things in the way (what are they called?) on the case out and put the thing in the slot, screw it in and DONE.
