Need advice on compatible graphics card

Hi!

Well, my GPU seems to have finally died, and I really need to get a new one asap. I use the computer mostly for general use now, with some very infrequent gaming (used to be much more back in the day). So as long as it can run lets say Rainbow Six Siege on high quality I will be happy.

Could you all advise a GPU that is compatible with below setup? I am more interested in something cheap (up to £100) and second hand, but not 11 years old like my current one!

Thank you very much in advance!

Remember that PC won’t support windows 11 at a hardware level and windows 10 is out of support in October this year.

There is an option to pay for extended support at around £30 per year for as long as they’ll keep that going

Just mentioning as you may find it’s time just to replace it

Very good point, thanks for that.

I might still need the GPU before I have the funds to buy a whole system, but definitely something to keep in mind.

I don't think you can find a card that can handle 1440p, even if at a low level due to your 60Hz monitor, for £100.
Regarding second-hand GPUs, I believe you should look into sites such as eBay and similar.

If you don’t mind AMD, the RX9070 xt is better value that Intel equivalents and should be covered by the PSU for the games you mention

Thats if you want something you can carry across to a new system once you get one

If you are just looking for a second hand one at £100, you’re quite restricted by budget, but I’d suggest an NVidia as the AMDs around that timeframe weren’t as solid as they are now. I’m not sure what you’ll be able to find at that budget though
