My pc starts up normally but the screen power button keeps on flashing :'(

Hi all I just received my pc today but as I put the cables together I found my first problem. Neither of my mouse or keyboard are wireless and there only appears to be one socket which is half blue half green with the symbols (keyboard)/(mouse). He can I use both? My problem number 2 is that the pc turns on properly but despite being connected to my Samsung E1920 monitor via a blue signal cable the monitor power button keeps on flashing and the screen remains blank. I just can not think what it could be other than my cable needs replacing. Thanks for any help :)

Is the cable connected to the GPU rather than the motherboard?

Also, I take it the mouse and keyboard have a PS2 connection? (circular green/purple)

PS/2 connections are now becoming outdated, so many motherboards now only have one PS/2 connection or none (the green/purple circular connections are know as PS/2 connections)

If you still have both a keyboard (purple connector) and mouse (green connector) that need these connections, you may need to get yourself something like this or this

Ok, thanks 2 both of you about the cables. However I have looked at the back of my case and I belief that they put the graphics cards low down but there isn't another place for The signal cable there or anywhere in fact. There is some hdmi spots low down but I don't use hdmi cables for my monitor. What should I do now? Thanks again for your help :)

You should have a dvi port & possibly a dvi to vga adaptor in your welcome pack.
