Took another look at what I chose. Replaced the ssd with Kingston hyperx savage ssd 240gb as seems to have better reviews. Didn't realise the other type had problems. Also added the silver warranty.

wouldn't that take the discount away? I would stick with the v300 if it means I get the spec you posted at a discounted price.

After what grimsbymat said I took a look online and saw that problems had been reported with that Kingston drive. Do you know if that is still true as I read that updated versions were not bad? Just didn't want something that is not much good..... Would prefer cheaper too tho!

am now wondering about the cooler....... is the corsair h60 ok for the overclocked i5 cpu? does it keep it cool enough and if so what are its noise levels like? is the h80i gt a better option? also does anyone know if the normal t900 case with the minerva has a side window to view everything? case name says with window but pictures show the solid case only?

i think i have more or less decided on my minerva build, still unsure about which case this one, maelstrom t900 or gt1 (any ideas?). also am unsure about the 650w psu. the checker says my build will be using 518w, but i want to add into my existing 240gb crucial ssd and 1tb hdd from my old pc..... will they significantly add to power needs? would i need to upgrade the build to a 750w.... i am not going to be running gpus in sli. thnx for any advice

if it is for the same build you could stick to your original thread. 650w PSU seems fine, I wouldn't change it, allows for greater potential upgrades in the future like a more powerful GPU. Adding an SSD or a 1tb HDD won't wouldn't be an issue even with a 550w PSU. Case is a matter of choice, any case price on that range will be fine.

thnx for the advice. looks like im def going to buy later this week! only thing i would have liked to change would have been the gpu. i would have liked more choice in the 970, would have ideally gone for something like the msi gtx970 gamer as i dont know how well the palit card that is supplied is overclockable.

I have merged your threads together Lgrenter - it is better if you can stick to one thread cos then people don't end up asking/answering the same things multiple times.

do pcs have any problem with purchasing my minerva spec without the gpu??? i just saw that a certain jungly retailer are selling the msi gtx970 at a good price. if i got that there and the rest of the system here i would have a system with a better gpu than the current zotac that is being fitted.

You can add the GPU yourself, in case there is an issue you will need to get it sorted with the third party retailer rather than PCS for warranty. Overclocking a GPU purchased by PCS will void your warranty. Is the gain from an overclocked or aftermarket GPU significant./noticeable?

the card i would get myself would be msi gtx970 gamer edition. it has had v good reviews and seems to run cooler and quieter than the zotac card that pcs have told me would be currently fitted. if i knew that the zotac card was a good one then i would be happy, am just concerned as when googled it does not have steller reviews with complaints that it gets quite hot
