My laptop spec. Thoughts?

Hi, I'm looking to get a new laptop and have chosen a spec.
It will mainly be used for everyday tasks and also for some gaming. I'm not a hard core gamer but do play occasionally and want it to be able to hold its own with new titles should I choose to play them. I'm not pushing for extreme frame rates or anything like that but still would like it to be solid enough.
I do like a larger screen as my current laptop is 17.3 but I've noticed the choices are limited for those screen sizes here atm. So I've opted for the 18 inch as opposed to the 16 inch.

my budget is roughly 2500.

Hello,

So, this model is one of the highest tier model, so it is expensive.
And I am afraid that your CPU is taking too much of the budget for a marginal gain in your usecases...
I am saying that because the SSD and RAM are not really the best, they are okay, but not much.
So, my questions are, do you really need that chassis or is your budget fixed ?
It is not that I want you to spend more, but I would not really go for that kind of build.
I am sorry.

My advice would be to remove norton, take the golden warranty (if anything happen, you will be happy to have it, trust me) and the 1 year dead pixel guarantee, take the 5600MHz ram and take corsair or samsung ssds.
Otherwise, your laptop performance will be okay at the best.

PS: I am not familiar yet with the new PCS chassis, so, I will take a look at some point, but not right now ^^"

Hi,
I don't really need that chassis but I would like a larger screen and it appears I'm quite limited in which chassis's are available in the larger size. The laptop I selected only has one cpu option.
The 17.3 inch Elimina looks very limited when it comes to cpu, ram and gpu options.
So it's either the 16 inch or 18 inch for me. And I selected the 18 inch option as it's bigger.

I have other questions.
Having a 18" myself, are you sure you will be able to "handle" this kind of F*** heavy and large chassis ? I can tell you they are quite a pain in the a** to move and the battery is almost non existent.
That being said, you're right, the elimina is limited.

Like I said, I do not try to sell you anything or spend to much, it is just that a decent build with the 18" recoil will cost more than 2500€
With what I suggested earlier, it would cost around 2900€ and with a 5080, 3300 ish (this is just for information, but with a laptop of this price, I would chose this gpu, for a better futurproofing, as it cannot be upgraded later)

Sorry, I edited the price as the VAT is not exactly the same between Ireland and France, so it became slightly pricer... sorry
