Do note that anything you buy now will not be playing games at the highest settings in 4+ years without upgrades - PC tech just moves too fast for that to happen, and then applications are designed to use said new tech.

yes, I suppose that's true:sailor: though id be happy if in 4/5 years time my system could still play games on normal/good settings, without needing a new "thingy". my current pc lasted me 7 years of fun filled times but time to put the old girl out to a farm :) I'm looking a new system that should last a good few years would rather pay a little more now if that's needed

You could put an i7, 980ti build together for £1500. I'd suggest either getting a better gpu... Or spending less on a 970 and saving the difference for an upgrade in a few years.

If 4K gaming isn't the target (and your monitor choice indicates this), spending £1000 on a powerful GTX 970 based system is probably the best thing you could do right now.
As SlimCini said, spending that extra bank later will keep your system more capable for longer and prevents paying an inflated amount now that you wont see any benefit from until later....when that performance would cost less.

Buy a 980ti system now and in 5 years it will still play new games fairly well at 1080p (Massive disclaimer:probably). If you decide in a few years to hop on the 4K train to EyeCandyVille, you will have to shell out more money and this original machine will have been very poor value for money.
If all you are doing is updating your 970 system (that cost you less in the first place) you will have spent only what was necessary.

And one last thing, buy the silver warranty for a fiver, it's a no brainer

Change the SSD, the V300s are not great, either the Hyper X or Samsung will be fine, plus you could think about dropping the size to save a bit of cash. Plus, the WD HDDs are better 7200rpm drives.

Thanks for the advice so far guys, iv played about with the GPU and a (i7, 980ti set up) pushes me over to a £1650 pricetag :( this current set up is about £1350, I'm okish with that (hate not being a millionaire though) ill sit on it for a few days but unless I'm told otherwise this is as good as I can get. In a few years maybe Ill grab the Better GPU

im not into 4k def land just yet. but I do like to hear the opinions of people who know this kind stuff and get your input stop me making a massive noob mistake , so keep the comments coming iv changed the SSD to hyper X and yes silver warranty for a fiver, doh its added

Spidertracks spec looks good but I would change the case. You should be be looking at +£40 cases to get better cooling for your components.
