I recently bought a Defiance II, here is my configuration:
Intel i7 6700HQ
8GB Ram (1x8 DDR4) Hyperx IMPACT
Nvidia 970M - 6.0GB DDR5 VRAM
500GB SERIAL ATA III 2.5" HARD DRIVE WITH 32MB CACHE (7,200rpm)
I order it without operating system because my aim was to install Ubuntu Linux. Here are my first impressions after a few days of utilization:

- Installing ubuntu was a trip to the hell. The hybrid graphic make installation almost impossible. I should thank a user of this forum for posting a guide for it.Here is the guide. I adapted it to newer Ubuntu 16.04 and newer 367 nvidia drivers in order to have a truly hybrid graphic.
- After a day I finally succeeded in this and I could try my new Ubuntu Gaming Machine (I know ubuntu is not as good as windows for gaming but this should be either my working machine and I need something powerful)
- This machine is impressively fast. I've never seen a lag or a hang and the whole system run smooth.
- The display is very good, it has a wide view angle. On the other side it has some halos on border that can be seen on darker backgrounds, but usually they aren't a problem.
- Graphic card works well, I can play almost everything that run on linux with it. I have to try it for CUDA software but I did not expect any problem.
- This laptop is quiet and noiseless even on gaming (compared to my old laptop that was like a jet engine on my deks)
- Battery works good. It's not the best but it can ensure me almost 3 hours working.
- It's lightweight enough to be moved for work and university
Marco.
