My Build

This is my first build and probably my last as I'm getting a bit older now but my 7 and 10 year old kids should get use out of it too.

I'm going to be using it for streaming, gaming and video editing.

Prepared for a long wait due to the shortage(hopefully this will teach me how to be more patient).

Next upgrade is the monitor was looking at a 1440p 165hz pixio display as it seems to be the cheapest at that spec.

Curious about the case I picked as I can't find any videos of it anywhere but can always change that to a different one down the line.

Hi Roy,

AMD have taken the lead over Intel in recent years, you would be better off with an AMD build.

What is your budget?

Do you have a separate monitor budget?

That was something I was considering think I read somewhere that Intel was better for using with Adobe and daVinci resolve products.

I didn't have a budget in mind at the start but was trying to stay below £2000 but that didn't go to plan 🤣

The total cost of that build was £2,372.00 including vat and delivery so would definitely not go over that budget-wise. hoping it will last a long time.

Got to do a bit of saving for the monitor so that will be a separate budget.

AMD processors should be fine with all mainstream programs.

This is the AMD equivalent. The 3070 will be a much better fit for a high refresh 1440p display; the 3080 really needs a Superwide or 4k 144hz monitor to get the most out of it. Got all the storage you need, besides a scratch drive you might find useful, and a top level cooler and PSU to look after your components. Wanted to clarify what type of streaming you do, you only need a capture card if you're streaming from another device e.g Xbox. If you're streaming PC gameplay the GPU has encoding cores designed for that purpose.
AX200 wifi card and silver warranty are a no-brainer.

Had a look at the Pixio monitor; it's certainly good value for a 1440p IPS at £320, but is there any room within that monitor budget to stretch a little further? The Asus VG27AQ and LG 27GL850-B are both fantastic options around the £450 mark; and when you're investing over 2 grand into a new PC it's good to have a solid monitor to match.

I have had a look at that and I'm going to have a good think about that build tonight as it makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for getting back to me. This is the reason I posted this here because before ordering because I didn't really have anyone to talk to about it as my girlfriend has no interest or knowledge in it and none of my friends are into pcs or gaming at all.

I would be hopefully streaming 1080p 60fps on YouTube purely just as a hobby but want it to look as good as possible.

The Elgato was for streaming ps5, Xbox one and switch consoles sometimes too I have a hd60 currently so needed an upgrade for the instant game view.

I think I would try and up the monitor budget and go for the Asus VG27AQ.

Ah fair enough RE: the capture card, you will need it if you're streaming from console.
The VG27AQ is a great monitor, you get what you pay for! :)
