Mouse stops working with new PC.

I recently a machine from yourselves and it's been great, expect that for some reason I can't figure out my mouse will stop responding.

It's a Deathadder Chroma, and when it stops responding the lights are still on and the laser is still active underneath but the mouse pointer wont move on screen and nothing happens when I press the buttons or use the scroll wheel.

It's not a total system lockup as everything else works, the keyboard, speakers and montiors all respond and they should and active games/videos/music still play as normal - I just lose all mouse control and have to unplug and replug the mouse back in.

I've applied all the latest motherboard driver updates and windows updates to try and resolve the problem but it's still occuring. I can't seem to find a specific trigger as it happens in and out of games, under heavy and light CPU load.

Any ideas? I think it might be something to do with the motherboard USB bus but I'm not sure.

Here's my spec:

How did you install Windows when you got the PC...and did you have another SSD to install everything onto (as the PCS one is too small, and unreliable).

Just as a heads up (before anyone else says it), that cooler is insufficient for that CPU - you'd need a premium 360mm (3x120mm) AIO to keep that under control.

Does that mouse require its own driver? The basic mouse driver in Windows will usually handle most mice, but if that one has a specific driver you should install it.

If you're comfortable using the Registry Editor (regedit) to look at the registry you might also navigate to the key Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96f-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} and look in the UpperFilters entry. If you see anything in there apart from mouclass take a screenshot and post it here.

Hey, Windows was installed via bootable USB and the SSD its installed on still has 100Gb of free space. The userprofile and default install directory are set to another drive.

Thanks for the advice on the cooler, when I can afford to I'll look at upgrading.

Hey, there isn't a specific driver for this mouse from Razer.

OK, so that's as it should be. I would repeat then that installing the specific driver for that mouse is the next best step.
