Motherboard/Graphics confusion

Hi all
Looking for some advice for a machine I want to purchase probably next month.

I've been following the threads for a while now and itching to replace my 8 year old machine. My actual needs are low, but what I want is different!

I want a machine that is reasonable future proof - SATA III, USB 3, quick to startup, quiet, capable of a little video editing. I like the idea of SSD's and will wait to see what happens when Intel Gen 3 comes out compared to the OCZ drives.

Where I'm not too sure is what motherboard/graphics card combo to go for. I can for the next yr or to (until children get a bit older) make do with the integrated graphics of Sandybridge i5 but the standard mobo doens't appear to support sata III which would make most use of the SSD.
I don't mid getting a discrete graphics card but then not sure which one to go for. No poit getting one that isn't as good as the integrated chip, so is the 512mb standard one better than that?
I have been crusing around various forums looking for a simple answer but its slowly making me loose sleep.

This is my partial spec - I have a NAS drive setup so no real need for major onboard storage. I like the idea of the Green drives (spin down) but they don't appear to support 6gb/s.

Many things in the spec I don't need but want, looking forward to your input.

For time being we aren't 100% sure that the gen 3 SSD's will have SATA 6G, as SATA 3G isnt completely maxed out yet on the current SSD's.

The H67 boards are the value boards, but indeed they support teh built in VGA, the P67's, don't. So thats something to watch out for.

Video editing shouldnt suffer too much without a CUDA-enabled Nvidia GPU in this spec.

Nice choice of 64mb cached drive.

Consider a better PSU for later? Saves you wasting money on a weaker PSU now and then having to buy another later on for when/if you get a dedicated GPU as 450w wont cover the majority of GPU's out there today. Also taking out a PSU is a big pain, everything needs to be re-cabled etc :p

Anyways hope that helps.

So a P67 Mobo and an uprated PSU and a GTX430 graphics card.
Maybe a usb 3 front facing USB port (from another thread) instead of the card reader
It'll need a boot up time of sub second to placate the misses.
Thanks for the quick feedback Slein

Sub-Second haha.

When BIOS is replaced by UEFI then we may see boot-ups in 40seconds, but its just not possible with current BIOS as it is a bit of a slow starter :p

If you want super-speed id ditch teh 60GB OCZ and wait for the Intel Gen 3 SSD's due out in a few weeks time :) 160GB of Gen 3 should cost around teh same as 80GB of Gen 2, faster read/write and possibility of SATA3 interface
