Motherboard and Power Supply compatibility

Im looking to replace my very old gaming PC with something new that can handle both games and general work smoothly and quietly (After years of having an old AMD CPU on stock cooling lol) . I understand that the CPU and power supply may be a bit overkill for the rest of the build, especially the GPU. However i am going to replace the GPU myself at a later date when i can afford to upgrade it. My question is, that after putting this build into PC part picker i have seen that the mother board is supposedly not fully compatable with any of the power supplies available, saying that it requires an extra 12v lead or something that the power supplies do not have. I am wondering if this is out of date information on the part of that website or something that i should take into consideration and change my build over. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Well... first bit of advice would be to stick to AMD. They've just released brand new CPUs that are much better than Intel (who are still running off a five year old architecture).

Is there a budget for the system so we know what we're working with?

And what monitor do you currently have? Make and model or resolution and refresh rate would be handy to know (y)

Ahh i didnt know that its been a while since i loooked into this sort of thing!
My budget is around £1000, with a look to upgrade the graphics card later. And my monitor is 1080p 144hz (ASUS VG248QE). This again may be upgraded or added to in the future though.
Cheers for the help btw!

Well... if you could push your budget a tad you could get a system with a GPU that'll run with your monitor perfectly for the time being. And there's enough beef inside the case that when you're ready to make the jump to 1440p / 4K, you'd just need to get a new GPU and the monitor to match. System could easily last you 7-10 years with the right upgrade path.

You could also potentially knock the best part of £100 off the system I've specced up for you by transferring your Windows license from your old one over to this (assuming your old PC is being sent to silicon heaven...)

This build definitely looks a lot more balanced than my orgininal one! And my old PC is going to silicon heaven for sure (it currently sounds like a hoover lol) Thanks for the help again
