Hi, i suspect this might make me look bit silly, but after purchasing new gaming build, I realized my current monitor is likely too old for connecting to my new case/graphic card in any meaningful way. My monitor has the DVI, VGA and HDMI ports only (no DP port). The new hdmi cables I have (although they fit both ports to case and my monitor) don't do anything and monitor doesn't display a thing - remains dark (it is in great working order otherwise, in my current poor elderly build).
I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion whether it's possible to connect my asus vg278hr to the build (please see below) in a way that is reasonable. As I suspect this is not an option, my second question is what would you recommend for a new monitor to my build (budget: 800 +/- 100; but prefer bit cheaper if possible without compromising performance much according to what my build can do)? Happy to pay the higher end of my nudget if it's one of those super wide monitors. Many thanks.
