Microsoft virus scanner

Ive just updated windows 7 and it seems I mow have a virus and spyware scanner :wacko: Is this new? Not something I really wanted tbh.

Unless its calling itself Microsoft Security Essentials it might be a nasty.

Yep thats the one, never seen it until now. Now I need to get rid of it.

I like MSE, I think it's pretty damn good tbh. One of the best anti-Virus software I have used.

It probably is, I like windows firewall. I just dont really want a virus scanner when I dont really need it. Extra use of resources.

Don't really need it? Everyone who has a PC NEEDS a virus scanner. Rather daft if you don't have one.

It's not new as such but has been added to windows update, but i thought it was under optional so you would have to accept you wanted it 1st but might be wrong
