Max + safe Temp

As a wide rule of thumb 62c is about the point on AMD's where things start to go wrong. You want to be operating in the 50's max really.

Thank you gorman

Here is the email i got from the offical pcspecialst email.........

63degrees when playing a game is not very high to be honest, 80-90 is a high temperature but 60-70 when peaking during a game is no issue at all.

If you believe the PCI port is faulty, you can request a return for the motherboard to be changed by logging in to PC Specialist website and go to ‘Request a Return (RMA)’.

Wouldnt be too bothered if i even saw 60's under load unless it was giving errors, no idea what we are talking about here though is it the CPU or a GPU?

talking about cpu

the pci bit is about the mobo , ignore that.

So what am i supose do now about the temps? I dont want my cpu blowing up

What temps? i fear this thread is missing quite a bit of info.

Why would a CPU blow up? if thermal cut off is reached it will do just that, cut off and shut down.

Agreeing with Gorman that theres confusion over the context here.

The tech support guy is referring to the PCI Slot, which is where the graphics card goes, and the temp ranges (60-70 being o.k and 80-90 being the danger line) is what i'd expect graphics cards to operate at from my experience, is there nothing else in the email? i'm thinking that he's actually talking about the graphics card temperatures rather than your processor, and the temperatures between the two will vary quite a bit.

what is the problem in the first place? what are you using to measure temps? are you having issues or is it just a concern over operating temps?

the orginal email i sent to PCS , had 2 concers, first was about the CPU temp... 2nd was about a possbile pci slot faulty.

I am talking about the cpu here, no confusion.

So for around 60+ C for cpu temp is ok? its gets awfully hot in this room when doing gaming

People on OCN are saying i shouldnt hit 60 C for my amd processor

Hmm, if your concerned why don't you run a benchmark a few of times to put your cpu under load for like 30mins or just play a game for an hour. The check the temp on something like CoreTemp. That was the program which made me decide that after cleaning my laptop out 2 times and the temp still being at 67 idle, i needed some thermal paste. :p

max 62C is what AMD states on their website

If you have poor airflow in your case and also a stock cooler that came with CPU, you may hit temps up to 65C (ish). When I got mine CPU, with super small case and stock cooler I was hitting 65-68C yet the system worked fine and had no problems with it. Truth is, for longevity and OC you need to get closer to 50C rather than 60C.
