Logitech Keyboard & Mouse Problem

Ok, so I recently brought a new PC from PC Specialist and on the whole its been great. I have had a few problems though. The first thing I noticed was that there are 29 drivers out of date. Most of which being PCI to PCI, and stuff like that which I am clueless about, and I don't know where to go to install them for free.

However my main issue, as it effects the general use of the system is that the keyboard and mouse seem to lag out constantly. It's the wireless K260 one, yeah the cheap and cheerful one ( but I didn't expect to have to change to my old wired ones just to be able to use the system without having severe lag).

Any help would be appreciated to fix the lag issue. I have installed the drivers for the wireless keyboard, and mouse but no changes have occurred

Okay Ian, two things, firstly, I take it you're using one of these driver wizard programs to do these drivers, please don't! I spend most of my time in technical support talking people through recoveries and reinstallations and picking up the pieces from the fallout of these programs.

Drivers follow a simple rule, don't fix what ain't broken

Secondly, can you confirm how far away the receiver is from the keyboard and mouse? The range isn't amazing, but if the gap is quite big, you might want to try the receiver at the front of the Pc instead of the back, also, make sure that it is not plugged into a USB 3.0 port (blue plsatic inner) as they don't like it too much!

In respondance to Number One, I appreciate what you said there, but the thing is 'don't fix what isn't broken' in my eyes it seems broken when I'm using my computer then all of a sudden the mouse lags out. The receiver is in the back of the machine as I have the tower behind my screen and the mouse i'd say is about 1 foot away. Number Two, Yeah its definitely not in the USB 3.0 port.

Okay good point about the USB, but it is not likely to be driver related as they run off the basic core Windows drivers like most keyboards and mice, I know I'm asking the bare basics here, but have you tried it in a different USB port?

Yeah I've tried it in both back USB 2.0 ports. I haven't tried the fronts ones as they are even further away but might give it a go

There also seems to be general lag, when playing games. FPS begins to go right down to 0 or 1 sometimes :L Do you know how I can resolve this?
