Hi All,

I am developing a build up a PC to handle the new MSFS2020 with the RTX 3080 I am wondering if the LG27GL850-B is still worth getting it for a 1440p experience. I have read RTX 2080ti needs a Ultrawide monitor to get full experience however I am investing on the PC and I don’t want to expend over a 1K in a monitor when I am planning to move to VR but still want to have a decent monitor without breaking the bank (even more!) Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Here is my new build up.

Hi guys,

I am looking for a UW 1440p 100Hz+ G-sync suitable monitor to be paired with the future RTX3080, and there are a lot of specs to be considered to have a good gaming experience. I am looking to spend around £500-£700 I have seen loads monitors with freesync (g-sync tested unofficially) but with certain flaws. Having refresh times over 4ms or average HDR and I am not sure what to sacrifice to have a decent item. Any suggestions? Thanks

I genuinely believe the LG27GL850-B is the best value 27" monitor money can buy at the time of writing. I got one in July and it truly makes my rig sing. The colours are so rich and the picture so clear. No regrets.

We love you Ukraine
The 3080 is ludicrously overpowered for standard 1440p, it’s over double the power, you’d only use a fraction of the card. Even the 3070 is going to be overpowered for it. The 3060 would be a better fit.

if the budget for the monitor is tight, this is the very lowest I would go with the 3070:

Thanks for your reply guys. My idea is to build a future proof system. I think I will go for the 3070 as suggested if 3080 is too much. The idea is to be 4K and VR ready when it comes the time.
Cheers
