Last check for Optimus V15"6

I'm getting the Optimus V in the next week (about time) and wanted to go through a last check. Will be used for gaming (mid and higher) and general laptop/uni use. The reason for the wifi card choice is that I have fiber optic broadband 60mb/s at 2.4gh and 5.4ghz frequencies and I have heard about other people's trouble in general when using intel wifi cards.

Any recommendations and advice will be welcomed, Thanks in advance :tank:

I've got a regular old wireless card in my Vortex and it isn't perfect (I get 50meg wireless, but 90-100meg wired).

Does it have to be 15" for portability or could you just as easily have a 17"?

Thanks for the reply :D

While the standard card will likely be enough, their questionable reliability and the fact that I can use the 5.4ghz (to be honest don't know how much faster it is) make me want to stick to my choice. Also I got a little 'future proofing' in mind and this way at least in the internet capability department it will be long lasting, if not just longer.

As for the screen size I would love a 17 inch or even a 23 inch ;) but realistically I need the laptop to be portable be it within the house (one floor to another) or to Uni/family/friends. While I understand that a 17 inch IS portable, I would imagine that it won't be a joy to carry and thus 15 inch fits my needs.

The only reason I mention it is because of the discounted Optimus 17" in the reviews section for £879. The discount on it is worth £100 approx and the spec of it is slightly better than yours with an SSD.

If you add your £15 discount onto too then you're getting a very good Optimus at a very good price. Downside is you can't customise the hardware of review builds... but you can ring up after you've placed the order to alter things like warranties, cooling pastes and software.

Certainly an enticing offer, specially with an SSD added. Despite the £100+ discount and an SSD (seeding my brain with doubt), 17 inch will be too big to carry around (add the increased weight as well) for me at least. I was considering a 14 inch Skyfire, because for a 14inch it was packed with a great deal of goodies but I will be using it as my primary gaming platform and 14 inch just doesn't cut it. As I am in the unfortunate position of not being able to get a PC or gaming console at the moment (space + screen + money), I have to combine my need for a Laptop (for Uni etc.) with my need of gaming (<-LOL)

Sod it...

*the entrepreneurial hooker mused*

There...I've done it...if you're offended, sorry...but my head was starting to hurt.

LOOOL xD
