Hello ! I have a question regarding this laptop with a 8700k... I'm interested in it because I do 3d with blender, so 2 gpu's are great... but I also record music with cubase and when I do that I need a real quiet environment...

So my question is, is it getting noisy when using non 3d software, and is it possible to deactivate the gpus to make it quieter ?

I understood that if you just plug one of the ac adaptator one of the gpu is off, maybe one of you know if we can put off the other one also and does the ventilator is noisy in this situation...?

thanks for any sharing of experience & answer ! :) :)

If there isn't a simple way to switch them off you could always disable the GPUs in Device Manager when doing audio recordings....

Yeah I thought about that.. do you think it stops the fans from being noisy ? surely if the heat is down ? thanks

I wouldn't have thought that the GPUs would be getting hot at all during audio recordings because they're not being used. If the fans spin up at all it will be because of the CPU getting warm, but as long as the laptop is clean inside (so there is good cooling from inside there) and there is ample space all around for cooling air to circulate, I wouldn't imagine that audio recording alone is going to get the CPU hot enough to need the fans....?
