Laptop/Tablet

Hey so im thinking of buying one of the laptop/tablet hybrid so are there any of these that are aready out (Good ones) and how much?

Or should i just wait for the surface (I think thats a laptop/tablet hybrid).

Ah cool could you explain like how they work/what you can use a little bit?.
Like can you actully use it as a laptop (Using normal programs like you would on a laptop-For me they would be word/excel/powerpoint and photoshop mainly) or is it just a tablet with a keyboard?
I dont fully understand the part above so if you can explain a little more about them that would be awsome because ive wanted a tablet for a while and a small laptop would be great for shcool work.
