Laptop specs and a question!

Hi everyone, haven't been on for a while but finally back from the dead! I'm considering getting an new gaming laptop with a 1050Ti.

One question before I post the spec, is it possible to buy a laptop without any drive at all? The configuration doesn't let me but does anyone know if they would let me if I rang them? Basically I have a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO I want to throw in there and would be a waste to spend money on another hard drive just for the sake of it!

Anyway, here's my spec:

One other question, is the i7 worth it over the i5? It'll only be used for 1080p gaming and general uni work

For gaming and office work there's generally be no real benefit to the i7, especially since it's paired with a 1050 ti and you won't be upgrading the GPU ever.

PCS don't seem to sell systems without an HDD, presumably as it's not a complete system and also they'd need an HDD in there to install the test OS and drivers to make sure all's working properly.

You could get a nice M.2 SSD like the PM961. Or maybe a 1TB HDD since the price is quite similar to the cheap 500gb ones, get an external drive enclosure, and make a DIY USB HDD for file backup.

Yeah, I thought that may be the reason, as they need something to test Windows on.

I may get a 128GB PM961, think that would make the most sense and would stop me needing to reinstall windows!

So I decided to go with the SM961 128GB SSD as it seems less wasteful, instead of just buying a hard drive and never using it! Also got the dead pixel guarantee for 30 days as I wouldn't be able to put up with dead or stuck pixels at all. Considering fast track put not sure if I should go with 3 day or 5 day :/
