Laptop power supply and ram questions

Hello All,

I am building up to order the spec below, and I have a couple of questions;

1) Is there any reason why the maximum amount of 5600mHz Corsair Ram is 32gB, whereas slower ram permits 64gB?

2) This laptop comes with a 280w ‘brick’ power supply. The connector looks like one of the many generic concentric power jacks. I was wondering if it possible to charge/power the computer through one of the USB-C ports (albeit more slowly, of course)? If not, does anyone have the specs of the power supply & connector so I can investigate a possible spare?

3) Also does anyone know if the FHD-IR webcam supports Windows Hello?

Thanks

Hi there,

The RAM limitation is due to stability. More RAM puts more strain on the memory controller, in order to maintain stability the RAM overclock is often reduced.

You can get a spare power brick from PCS, you may even be able to do so at the time of ordering. It'll certainly be in the spare parts of your account once you have the order.

Not sure on the Windows Hello feature. I would be surprised if it didn't but I would contact PCS directly to make sure. Chat is typically quickest, there are sometimes long wait times on the phone and email can take a couple of days.

I wouldn't buy a laptop now, you're right at the tale end of the current chassis, new ones have already been showcased for release in March with new CPUs and GPUs.

Thanks both Scott & SpyderTracks.

Where can I see the new specifications which you mention have been showcased?
