Hey there, I'm considering getting a laptop at the end of the month to use when I go to uni after the summer (hopefully) and for a bit of gaming, but nothing too crazy as I have a desktop as well.

This build comes to just under £800 (something like £10 less), I had a few of questions.
1) Is there a major difference between the 760m and 765m as I was also looking at the skyfire laptop which comes with the 760m. What's the fps in games on these two cards?
2) Is the kingston RAM any better? I know it's 2x4gb sticks so it would be slightly quicker if the memory is dual channel on the motherboard (but I don't know if the motherboard has dual channel memory).
3) What's the best build I can get for £800, my requirements are a 760m or above, an i7-4700mq and 8gb of ram. Do you think I've got the right sort of build or not?

Also, which would be better, the 13" version or the 15" version? I like the idea of the 15" one, but it's an extra 0.7kg more, is it worth carrying the extra weight just for the sake of a bigger screen and a dvd drive? And which one looks better, the skyfire 14", the optimus 13.3" or the optimus 15.6"?

Thanks for your time in reading this, George.

For benchmarks have a look here for the 760m http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-760M.92068.0.html and here for the 765m http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-765M.92907.0.html

No need to worry about ram, its literally not going to make any difference to your life if it runs dual or single channel. You will never notice, even if you benchmark it the results are so close its not even worth thinking about.

I think your about right spec wise, I would like the bigger screen if its for gaming, but then you have to lug it around everywhere with you at uni, so that might win out for you. personal preference on the chassis I always think, they're all pretty good. my brother has the 17.3 skyfire and it is a chunky machine. Not sure how relevant that is to the smaller version though.

Thanks for the reply :)

The bench marks are actually better than I thought, the 765m can run pretty much all games on high detail at over 39fps, which is impressive! I'm just wondering though if that's at 1080p or 720p as it doesn't specify :/

And as to the ram I guess I'll you with the Samsung one as it's a single stick and gives me room for more.

I think I'll get a 15" version if I can afford it since I'll be easier to work with and has a dvd drive, which could come in handy. But if I do just get to the £800 mark then I'll be the 13" one I get, either way it's good as I get either a bigger screen or lighter laptop :D

No idea on the resolutions they're run at, I think its all user submitted so its tough to know exactly, but certainly gives you a good enough idea. I'm not exactly sure what the difference between 720p and 1080p is on a 15inch screen looks like, it would be hard to tell I think.
