Just wondering if it were possible to get a more quiet CPU cooler for laptops. I have the optimus 17.3" laptop and the fan spins up so loud when playing games?

I am afraid you can't, you could try contacting PCS and see if there is problem with the CPU fan

Is it Optimus V or VI ? Optimus V had poor cooling management that got resolved by Prema mod bios.

Worth mentioning that installing a custom bios will invalidate your warranty and could brick the unit.
