I have two questions.
Do I need water cooling for the GPU?
Also, which exactly GPU will go in there?

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

Why the soundcard? It's not like the old days when you had to have a soundcard to get any decent sound, nowadays motherboard sound is just as good as a soundcard, but there are specific uses for a dedicated soundcard.

You say 90% gaming, what's the other 10%?

This build came up to £1900.
My old setup was AMD, I was fairly keen to go Intel and Nvidia this time around but I’m open some suggestions for AMD system if we can squeeze in a new monitor in the £2000 budget and still keep the performance on par with what I got there.

Looked at the AMD Systems. Came up with this including a decent monitor I believe but any suggestions? Stuck with this mobo, I don’t think it needs upgrading the PLUS is pretty good from what I’ve heard correct me if I’m wrong. Changed to 3200mhz sticks and that’s about it. What do we think?

A few thoughts:

- I would consider leaving off the Blu-Ray writer and sourcing it elsewhere...beyond the fact you can get one cheaper elsewhere, you can't be sure what brand PCS will provide. The burner will cost you £72 where you can get a good Pioneer burner for £62.
- If you really need a Wi-Fi card, then upgrade it to the Intel AX200....apparently, it is far superior to the one you chose and is worth the extra £10 (it is always recommended on here for builds)
- Not really sure you need the Liquid cooler as the stock AMD cooler is really good (though maybe the 3700 runs hotter than the 3600 so it's possible it is needed...wait for a more expert opinion here)
- If you stay with the Focus case, then the extra fan should not be needed...the case already has 2 front fans and a rear fan and has very good airflow. If needed, you could always buy extra fans later. I would consider getting a better case though...as good as the Focus case is (I have one and I love it), it is a budget case and yours is not a budget build....someone more knowledgeable will be able to advise better

Regarding your previous question, as your build is on finance, I suspect you may need to phone PCS to cancel the build as the process is obviously different than buying the build normally with payment up-front

Taking out the Blu-ray, it opens up a lot more options for a case as most of them could not accommodate it, but they look way cooler

Also, good spot on the Wi-Fi card I thought I removed it as it will be 100% Ethernet cable. Save couple quid there aswell.

With the cooling I’ve no idea myself, I believe that one was on one of the pre-configured PCs with that CPU so I left it as is but definitely open to change that if it’s not necessary.

I may give them a call but for now I’ve sent them an email saying I want to cancel that build, and I’ve received the automated email confirming they have my message. I’ll keep an eye on the status of the order because I wouldn’t want them to go into the build and waste their time.

I’ve done some research and it looks like you are right the provided CPU fan is good enough and I won’t ever do any over clocking so thats even more savings.

So, that opens up £150/200 for a case. I do like the Be Quiet!Base601 but only one front fan and looks pretty covered up maybe bad option?

Includes a £350 monitor and the build is £130 less than the original Intel/Nvidia system without the monitor. Having said that I did remove the extra water cooling on the CPU, wireless card, audio card and Blu-Ray. This way I was able to also grab a nice case I believe and the RGB version of ram. Configuration did say the system should run at 520W with 20% allowance but the 650W is fine if I ever need upgrade. Grabbing the monitor at a later date with the original system would set me back to £2200.

All in all thanks for all the good advice guys because now it looks more reasonable.

I would switch things up a little bit personally.

The X570 nets you nothing, I would save the money and go for the B450. This board is aimed at the highest end AMD chips or people looking for the insanely fast storage. It doesn't support your uses in any way so is a bit of a waste of cash.

The 750RMx PSU isn't much more cash, offers more headroom for the highest end GPU in the future and also runs silent most of the time. It's completely modular and very premium. I have had it's older sibling for around 10 years and it has served me very well through multiple systems. I always buy a PSU with the consideration of future potential as there's no reason to bin a good one.

I wouldn't worry about fast tracking either. They generally send it out as soon as they can anyway, the fast track would only get you a day or 2 I would have thought. Better to pocket the savings or put it towards shiny bits.

Monitor looks great.

My old rig actually has the 750W RM but only needs 550W so I could potentially switch them up down the line if needs be but great thought.

Also, I notice you’ve selected a different CPU cooler, was that intentional? I’ve opted for the stock AMD cooler that comes with CPU.

Oh also, I will hand down the old rig to my cousin most likely when I replace the GPU so it’s fine with the new Windows.

Also, I’m going to be home for the next 3 weeks and my old rig is just dead on my desk need replacement ASAP.

I opted for the cooler as the 3700X can run a little hotter than the 3600. It's not necessary but it's a good way of guaranteeing longevity.

It's a very cheap cooler but it's a 240mm radiator one that has RGB fans and looks amazing. For the money it's more than worth it and it will also facilitate airflow throughout the case helping out the other components.

I feel your pain with the delivery but the expedite doesn't guarantee a time unfortunately. If it's worth it to you then go for it, just be sure to claim the money back if it doesn't make it in time

Hello. Quick update. I went ahead and ordered the PC on the 27th Feb. Had it at my doorstep on the 3rd March at 10am. Very happy with delivery/speed of the build.
Starts up in 6seconds or there about, and has been performing exceptionally well. Little examples:
all settings maxed apart from view distance and post-processing on fortnite.
Fortnite 240-300+ FPS
Overwatch 120-180 FPS
Total war war hammer 2 120-/+ average depend on battles
Dota 2 240 FPS
HoTS 240 average
Only games I’ve played so far and yes I am a boomer playing these games

Hello. Quick update. I went ahead and ordered the PC on the 27th Feb. Had it at my doorstep on the 3rd March at 10am. Very happy with delivery/speed of the build.
Starts up in 6seconds or there about, and has been performing exceptionally well. Little examples:
all settings maxed apart from view distance and post-processing on fortnite.
Fortnite 240-300+ FPS
Overwatch 120-180 FPS
Total war war hammer 2 120-/+ average depend on battles
Dota 2 240 FPS
HoTS 240 average
Only games I’ve played so far and yes I am a boomer playing these games

Nice! Let us know if you get round to testing COD: Warzone. If battle royale is your cuppa tea (assuming you're since Fortnite) It's free-to-play I'm digging it on both PC and console rn!
