What do u guys think? This is my first purchase from PCS. Will I be able to run gta5 at 4k res at 60 fps on this rig? I will also order HTC vive VR when it's available. Will this rig be compatible with HTC vive? The total price was £1836. Thanks

You would be better off with a skylake build for gaming and VR. You only need 16gb ram and for steady 4k you really need 2 980tis and a 1000w PSU. You could always wait a bit for the PSU for the pricing of the new pascal cards

It will be vr compatible but won't manage 4K, you'd need sli 980ti for that. Processor and ram are overkill.

I'd cancel the order and wait til the end of the month and order a pascal system.

1080 been announced (see thread in the gaming forum thread) and has more power than 980sli and is cheaper than a titan x. Released end of May. I'd wait for that.

thanks guys for your valuable input. my order has now been dispatched. i wish i could wait for the 1080 but right now i'm too impatient. i can't wait to run GTA 5 on this beast. but i have decided that once i receive my PC and when 1080 comes out, i'll call PCS again and ask how I can have them upgrade my 980 ti to the 1080. (i'll pay them for the upgrade work of course and then i'll also look into selling the 980 ti.) I'll probably also need to upgrade the power supply from 750 to 1200 to make it compatible with the new 1080.

One last question: I have bought 3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) with this order. can I upgrade it to 3 year collect and return, 3 year parts, 3 years labour later on...like say 3 months later?

You'll be fine with a 750 watt for the 1080, it doesn't draw anymore power than the 980ti.

Yes, you can upgrade the warranty up to 1 month before it runs out I believe.
