Sooo mrr the laptop so far is amazing ! Very happy to have it and use I only have few questions...

Sound - I installed windows, and start listening to sound - I had very low subwover sound - I installed drivers THX and Realtek and I have back high tones but my subwover is not working... ?? Can any1 give me a hints how to get it back to work please ??

If I unplug power and my laptop stays only on battery it looks like he is very weak... it disabled 3d rendering...

what is the temperature limit ? I noticed if I hit 70c during renders cpu strat changing from 3.3 to 3ghz and so on... is there a way to set fix speed ?

How fast in 4 cores can i7 2860qm go ?

In regards to sound I would say contact PCS on live chat or give them a call tomorrow. When you unplug the power then most laptops will automatically degrade their performance to increase battery life, to be fair laptops aren't really deisgned to game while unplugged. Your laptop will sometimes override settings in what you could refer to as a power to heat ratio...basically it dedcides that maybe it is getting a little too hot so it loooks at what it can do to reduce the temperature, as it turns out the program you are running is using only a medium amount of processor power so it will underclock it help reduce the temps. Also would strongly (I mean strongly) suggest against overclocking a laptop CPU as their is enough heat in that case as is and overclocking the CPU will only increase the temps and lets face it, you probably aren't using all that processing power anyway!

Thanks for quick reply ! I guess I should explain it more than just rush with it hehe....


1st first 1st cpu temp and speeds. I use my this laptop mainly to work in CGI, I do render a lot and that eat 100% CPU. I thought that this laptop will run at 3.4-5 ghz constantly under power plug and heavy renders...

About graphics with unpluged power plug- more of a curiosity if there is a way to force laptop to run 100% or is it always like that...

Also I saw somewhere software that can force mobile cpu to run its max turbo mode so that is also something I'm considering

The i7-2860QM CPU will only run at 3.6GHz under certain conditions (goverend by the Intel Turbo Boost 2 Technology). The basic conditions are as follows:

1. Number of cores used - i.e. if only 1 core is being used then the max frequency is 3.6GHz, if 2 cores are being used then the max frequency is somewhere between 2.5GHz and 3.6GHz, if 4 cores are being used then the max frequency is 2.5GHz
2. Temperature is under a specified level
3. Current consumption is below a threshold level
4. Power consumption is below a threshold level

Thanks for info, yea I thought there are few rules that would control the OC.

Do you know maybe what is the temperature treshold ?


Also I've noticed that I cant download data quicker than 2mb per second... still testing it tho / wireless and wire.
