Just a quick question.

I've had some problems in the past with the computer I bought but all is good now - except for one thing.
When the watercooling pump failed, when I turned the PC on it would say Loading Asus Express Gate...... (its before the screen for the bios; )
but, when it was fine, I never saw this once, once I got it returned I also never saw it again! until this Monday, went to switch my computer on as normal, and noticed this came up, although it seems everything is working fine, both HDDs fine, can play games and CPU only gets to 40-47C on all cores, so not running hot at all.
Only other thing I can think of is while playing WoW over the weekend, the screen suddenly went blank while playing - and returned like nothing happened at all.
I have NOT installed any updates for the driver recently, so I'm not assuming this is the problem.
right now I have no problems, but I got this message saying Loading Asus Express Gate, just wondering if you think that its ok?

yes, i know the ram is a bit off and should be tri-channel ... but that shouldnt be a problem.

It means that for some reason the BIOS has reset at some point, it can happen and in itself isnt anything to worry about.

Express gate is a feature on ASUS boards that boots you into a simple linux distro, to disable the option enter BIOS and disable it under boot options.

Thanks Gorman, so it's not a problem if its disabled then? Got no idea why the bios would reset but must have been by itself.
I disabled it, it was on auto before.

Not a problem if you dont intend to use it, i find that it makes booting take a lot longer as it counts down so usually disable it whenever i see it.

Thanks for the help, so much faster now as well, it's not the disabling it the problem though, was just wondering if anything is wrong, doesnt seem like it though.

If the BIOS makes a habbit of resetting then that could be an indication of a problem, if its a one off i wouldnt be worried.

Well, as I said this happened before when the water pump ended up failing, got it sent back to you guys before and this message went away!
But now it came back up, I was just a bit curious if there was a problem or not, although everything seems to be fine.

From what you described i dont think there is. If it happens every time you reboot the machine, that would be a problem.

No doubt whoever worked on the pump problem turned it off.
