Just a few questions I hope you could enlighten me on.

Hey guys,
I'm a bit shy about typing on forums due to my Aspergers but I will give it a shot.

Anyway to the questions at hand:

1. I've been reading the forums about upcoming laptops, and I was wondering if you could give any more information on the Clevo P270WM?
As in, when it's expected to be available, maby estimate pricing exe.

2. And am I correct in saying this new laptop will be the Vortex III?

I'm asking these questions because I (will) be buying a laptop in the region of £2000 within the next month and a half from PCS :turned: .
I know you may not be able to answer these questions but any information will be appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

Hello there,
It seems I'm in the same boat as you and would also like a few answers regarding the upcoming laptops!
I only know that the Clevo P270WM chassis is yet to be named by PCS, the Skyfire II is an MSI laptop (not sure which) and that there's also an upcoming Vortex III (again, not sure what its 'stock' name or manufacturer is). I also know that their prices will be similar to those of current (starting at around £1000+ for the most basic of parts and working their way towards the £2000+ mark for the 'good stuff').

Welcome to our forums :)

1. We can't provide any official pricing at present. As a guide guide - and anyone who reads this please don't take this as official pricing) the single GPU will be about £300 more expensive than the current Vortex II 580M pricing. A dual GPU option will be another £250 extra.

2. This laptop will not the the Vortex III; this laptop does not yet have a name.

...but I do however know that the Clevo P270WM chassis will be called the Skyfire II by PCSpecialist and that the upcoming Vortex III will be a different chassis, but I'm not entirely sure what its 'stock' name is.

1. P270WM is not the SkiFire II. P270WM is not yet named.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone, the P270WM will be a beast.

I'm greatly looking forward to see how it performs considering it has the 2011 socket cpu's in it :D .

When I get around to making an order (when it's out) I will most likely go along the lines of a i7 3820, with 16Gb's of ram;
120gb ssd for the OS, 750gb storage, and when Kepler is out, maybe something along the lines of two 660m's in sli (maby 680m's depending on price exe).

Anyway, I'm glad I found this website.

As it stands the Clevo P270WM can be outfitted with either one or two GTX 580M (Edit: this will be updated to either one or two GTX 675M when they're released).
I specced one on a US site and it turned out to be around £2,700 - ouch! (Out of interest it was a i7 3930K 3.2ghz - 3.8ghz[Turbo Boost], Dual GTX 580M, 16GB of 1600mhz RAM, 240GB SSD + 320GB HD).

The P270WM will come with one GTX 675M with an option to upgrade to two.

We haven't received the sample yet so we can't provide any feedback. It will more than likely be excellent based on the manufacturer's existing reputation.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, just one/two more questions if you don't mind :) .

Any estimate on the release date of the P270WM?

Also, if it's not out by lets say late April, what laptop would you suggest for playing most games on ultra/max settings? (Not taking price into consideration. "I have enough..")

Anyway thats the questions (for now... :shifty: )

P.S. : Thanks for putting up with me asking so many questions.

There will be some stock landing mid to late April if everything goes to plan. Otherwise probably May.
