iTunes won't run on Vortex IV - Please help

Other than my slight niggle about the AUX out being too tight and some games defaulting to the integrated graphics my laptop is great, everything works fine EXCEPT I am having major issues with iTunes. Every other programme I have downloaded works fine but iTunes crashes within 5 seconds of opening it. I have nothing in the iTunes library, in fact I have no media whatsoever on the laptop and when I launch it I get "iTunes has stopped working" and the windows action centre tells me

iTunes has stopped working properly.

A newer version of this software is available for download that solves this problem. Apple Inc. recommends updating to take advantage of security and stability improvements.

Tap or click to download the update from the Apple Inc. website Tap or click to download the update from the Apple Inc. website
but this just links me to re-download the exact same version I have just installed. I have -un- and re-installed it several times as well as trying an older version of iTunes and even trying installing on the HDD rather than SSD but every single time the exact same happens. It would be a great relif if I can solve this as it is a pain in the but having to dig out my retired laptop to change the tunes on my phone - I realise I could use an itunes alternative but I just want this fixed. Thanks for any help.

Not sure if relevant but my specs - Vortex Review model (17.3" Matte (1920x1080) i7-4700MQ 16GB RAM GTX 780M 120GB SSD 750GB HDD (7200 rpm) Windows 7)

My apologies I should have done a bit more digging before posting a thread. I located a thread here with a similar issue
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5252101?start=0&tstart=0
and the fix posted there sorted it.

+Rep for posting the solution. :)

For anyone else with this issue, to save you reading through the linked thread, the solution is to add the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\ to the Path variable in the System Variables.
