Is this good?

Hi,

Looking for advice on the following build. I have put this together from a few YT videos I watched.

I want to use it for gaming high settings 1440p and some 4k if possible. The 4k is simply a nice to have not too fussed if it can't.

Are there any areas I could save money here, or any areas I need to spend more?

Hello,
It looks mostly good.
I would say you can save money on the motherboard if you want, e.g. by choosing the TUF B650 instead. Depends if you want the bells and whistles of the X670E for the future (your current components don't need them, so if the B650 has all the external connexion you need you are fine with it).
You can also save by selecting non-RGB RAM and do without the LCD on the cooler, but that's up to you.
In my opinion, that cooler is overkill for the 7800X3D. Anything above 180-200W will be sufficient for it. If you want better cooling abilities for the future while keeping the noise down, I would choose a 280mm cooler (H115) over a 360 or 240mm. These numbers are deceptive: in terms of surface, 2x140mm is actually 91% of 3x120 and 36% more than 2x120mm).

Last but not least: I would definitely add 2 fans in the front to use the full 3 in front, to better cool the GPU (and other components). Those will make a greater difference than a fancier liquid cooler.

Whilst I consider the new ATX3.1 750W RMe the minimum for any gaming build (better over-current protection, spike protection, 400w PCIe5 power, etc.), and would be fine for a fit & forget solution for a 7600 CPU and 4060 GPU, I'd not go for it with a top-tier CPU and GPU combo, as it's on the limit of what's required and it is the 'baby' of Corsair's ATX3.1 range.

This means it has a narrower operating efficiency window, has fewer ports for attaching components, and 'may' need replacing if you went to a newer, more power-hungry 7900XTX or 9900XTX, or RTX6080 in a few year's time.

Whilst fully modular PSUs are much easier to swap out that non-modular ones, you have to be careful with cable types as they change by spec, but also by model.

If PCS offered a 1000W RMe / Shift model, then I'm sure most on here would be happy recommending that, but the jump in ATX3.1 PSUs is from a 'low end' 750W model to the 1200W Shift model...and the shift doesn't fit into all cases due to it's ports being moved 90º around the case to normal.

Due to the higher power available to the PCIe 5 ports, you can have a single cable powering the GPU, instead of a 2/3/4 to 1/2 chain of them...which makes cable management much nicer.
