Is it possible to control the fan speed in my skyfire 15,6?

Hello everyone,

as the tittle says, I'm interested in adjusting the fan speeds on my skyfire laptop.

The reason for this is that the GPU gets a bit hot while gaming (around 80-85 ºC), but the fan will only be working at about 40% capacity. I then hit the "fan boost" button, which puts the fan at 100%. That solves the problem quickly (to around 70ºC), but then when I turn it off I get hight temps again, and so on...

I would like to be able to tweak the fan speed so that I never get high temps, but not having to have the fan at 100% at all times. Hope I explained myself well enough.

PS.: I tried MSI afterburner and EVGA but they only control GPU fans, not the laptop fan. Also tried to use Speedfan, but it kept crashing the pc.

Thank you!

Does the machine have the option to set a fan profile in the BIOS? My brother has a skyfire but I've never actually used it for anything more than a quick web search so I don't know the specific workings of the BIOS etc.

Have you checked for dust build-up? How old is the system? Seems a little odd that the fan wouldn't be going faster even at 85 degrees though so I'm not sure its dust.

Not much help I know but at least 85 degrees is just about ok temp wise, if a bit hot... So your not damaging anything but you are right to want it a bit lower.

Hello, thanks for your reply. I just checked the BIOS and I don't see any setting related to the fan...

I don't think its a dust buildup since the laptop is less than a month old.

From previous threads it seems not possible to adjust fan speed or create a fan profile with Clevo laptops, at least not supported by Clevo as far as I know

Thats a shame... I guess ill just have to get used to turning on fan at 100% then turning it off, then turning it on, then off...

Thanks anyways! :)
