I thought I would share my thoughts on my new laptop, hopefully people will find it helpful. I have had the laptop for 10 days now - here are my thoughts
This is the spec I chose:
The laptop feels very light in weight which I love. It is incredibly quick to start up and allow me to start opening programmes and files, probably about 10 seconds which is brilliant.
The grey case is very sturdy and does not show up fingerprints and smudges so that's a bonus in my opinion.
I really like the keyboard, it is positive and silent apart from the spacebar which clicks every time you use it. The lighting effects are really good, far more effects than I will ever need or probably use.
The laptop is for the most part absolutely silent when I am using it, the fans do not come on blasting and when they do operate it is at a low level for a very limited period of time.
I normally run the laptop in Office Mode as I am not a gamer but I have had it running in game mode and turbo mode to try it and it remains silent. That may be different if I put it under extreme pressure with the latest games but for me that is unlikely so I have an extremely quiet laptop which I love.
The ports are not the latest and fastest but they work perfectly usb 3.1 gen 2 and gen 1 (2 of each). There is also 1 x HDMI, 1 x DP 1.2 via USB-C so well catered for I think.
The SSD drives I chose are very fast and silent so again they offer great storage and a rapid response in all circumstances. This coupled with 32Gb Ram provides me with probably an over spec laptop but I really love it and have no regrets.
The Mode changing button to the left of the power button works well but for me once I have set the mode I just leave it like that, perhaps gamers etc would use this feature more often. Every time you change the mode this is reflected in a screen notification which confirms the mode you have chosen which is helpful.
The one thing I don't really like is that there is a usb port to the rear of the laptop which is not something that I am a fan of but it is a minor point so I wouldn't let that put you off
To be honest there is nothing that I don't like about this laptop - apart from the fact I went well over my budget
