Could do with some advice...
My brother bought a pc from these guys back in 2011. The pc won't boot to desktop it just shuts down and I have been able to get it running into bios for a little while before it shuts down.
It is recording the CPU temp in bios at 85c (i'm sure it might even be hotter than this) I have taken his CPU cooler off and re pasted with thermal compound and still no luck it is still running at 85c
It is running an intel i7 980 running at 3.33ghz not sure if it is the 980x or whether that is the only version of CPU you can get as he's not sure himself I'm just going on what the bios says.
The cpu cooler I'm not sure what the name is but it's a water cooler with 2 fans attached to the radiator. the fans spin fine and I can feel cool air coming from them. but the heatsink side of it gets pretty warm.
Could this be a cpu cooler failure?
