Intel core i5 3320m max temp??

I ordered a 15.6" Vortex III from here around august this year. It has an Intel core i5 3320m cpu. When I am running it on full wack the temperature (according to this cpu meter gadget i got) is reaching 83C. Is this too high for a cpu temp ( moreover this cpu) ??

This is happening when the laptop is on a solid desk, and the vents are not blocked in any way.

What CPU Meter Gadget are you using?

Also, laptops do tend to get hotter than equivalent desktops - Are you benchmarking / stress testing the CPU to get these temps? Or are you using programs regularly that push the CPU to 100% for extended periods?

The second one, I am simply playing games, the games aren't even maxing out my cpu, even when I am using handbrake to convert video files it reaches this really high temperature, and that's without running any other programs whilst its converting.

CPUS are good up to arond 105c. Mine tends to hit around 95c when I am gaming, it is more the heat from the graphics card that causes the temp jumps. I wouldnt really worry to much unless its over 100c. I have mine running at 80-90c most of the day ever day and its been fine for over 1 year.
