The BSOD Doctor
To me Vanthus was a giant on here, when I first joined the fora almost 2 years ago he was everywhere, and always with sound advice and good solutions. I'm two time zones ahead of the UK and yet, in the mornings when I opened new tech support posts, Vanthus had already posted the best solution or advice. He was the first member to send me a friend request, I don't know that they mean much on these fora but it was a great honour to be recognised by the top guy on the fora (that's how he seemed to me anyway).
So....should we/could we do something to remember the massive contribution Vanthus made on here? If so, what can we do?
I was kind of wondering out loud that since Vanthus had a stratospheric rep and was usually right in his solutions/advice, whether we could instigate a "Vanthus award"? A particularly elegant solution, or a subtle piece of diagnostics, or a particularly insightful post, could be tagged as a "Vanthus solution" both to demonstrate our admiration for the posting and to remember that Vanthus would probably have posted that himself.
What does the panel think? Is this appropriate? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
