i5 Ultranote Laptop shutting down randomly

Hi,
I bought an ultranote back in june and have just started to use it.
Problem is it just randomly shuts down. Screen goes black then the fans cycle down. Hard reboot.
Been happening for the last week each time I try and do some work. Sometimes happens immediately after powering on, sometimes the laptop will work for 5-10- 15 minutes before it happens. As it gives no warning before shutting down the laptop is basically unusable.

It happened twice last night, first time I got 15 long loud beeps as windows was loading after the reboot, second time I got 2 short beeps on the POST.

Spec:

UltraNote: 15.6" Matte Full HD IPS LED Backlit Widescreen (1920x1080)
Intel® Core™i5 Dual Core Mobile Processor i5-4340M (2.90GHz) 3MB
16GB KINGSTON SODIMM DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)
500GB WD SCORPIO
INTEL® HD GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR 4600
UltraNote Series 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (62.16WH)
Base windows 7 pro install with just ms office on it. Pretty much a clean install.
THe only thing I had loaded when the crash occured was web browser and windows explorer so I dont think its software related.

Any ideas?

If you need any more info let me know. Also can you let me know the returns policy if this is a hardware related issue?

My immediate reaction to this (if its repeatedly turning off immediately after boot up) would be to RMA the laptop, its clearly defective.

If you got silver or better warranty PCS will cover the cost to return the laptop to them for the first year. I'd give them a call to discuss, they might ask for you to do some additional diagnostics first but either way they'll likely take the laptop back for repair.

I had a very similar issue with my Ultranote II, also an i5. It's basically a dodgy motherboard, I was told they've had quite a few calls of a similar nature.

It sucks, but you'll need to send it back (RMA) and get the motherboard replaced. Turnaround is usually around 5-7 working days.
